Hi
I would like to ask how can I make a pattern map with transparent background so that the pattern only appears , ex: a fence mesh .
-
In photoshop you can define an alpha channel. If you use a texture with alpha channel on standard material luimion will clip away all alpha values lower than 50%.

Thanks Alot :)

Hello Remko,
I made an alpha channel using photoshop , but Lumion Material doesnt take .png files , so I made the texture on photoshop .bmp file , but it doesnt work , any suggestion ?!

PNG should work! I am preparing the alpha and tranparency channels in photoshop, then I press save for web applications, activate save transparencies and you are done. Apply this texture to your model in the 3d software your are working with and then go to lumion, reload your file and there it should be with transparencies. You have maybe to adjust the reflection or clip amount to 100 percent in the accdording material setting. Maybe the path of your texture is gone and you have to apply it manualy in lumion. Hope that helps...

png does work but if you save a 32 bit BMP that also works!

We use DDS textures with an alpha channel you can download a plugin for photoshop from the Quest3d site -
