Hi Aramso, the Advanced Animation effect is currently not working 100% correctly at the moment...

Excerpt from another post:

KNOWN ISSUES: Advanced Animation effect
The Advanced Animation effect only uses curves when an animated model has 4 or more keyframes. Otherwise it will use linear interpolation between keyframes.

If there are fewer than 4 keyframes, the animation curve is not smooth, and walking characters for example, will appear to change orientation by 180 degrees for 1 frame just before reaching each keyframe.

The reason for this is that a different algorithm is used when there are fewer than 4 keyframes.

Some users have also reported unexpected behaviour when animating models, for example disappearing 3D people or certain models that can't seem to be animated.

Not sure which tutorial you're referring to?

In any case, here's how it's supposed to work (bear in mind that it's slightly broken at the moment as mentioned above):

1) Apply the Advanced Animation effect to a clip.

2) Adjust the Max duration in the lower left corner so it matches the clip duration. If the Max duration is shorter than the clip duration, the animations will loop.

3) Move the red time slider to where you want to set a keyframe.

4) Move/rotate/scale the models.

5) Move the red time slider to where you want to set a keyframe.

6) Move/rotate/scale models.

and so on...

Advanced Animation -> Max duration was increased to 99 seconds in 2.5.

What if the animation is more than 99 seconds. We are working on a six minute animation. How do I animate object in that ?

The limit is per clip.

Normally a movie is made up of more than one clip.
