Title: help with multiple instances placement
Post by: Member10453 on July 02, 2012, 07:18:22 pm
I have this large scene I need to fill with mainly random people and trees.

I can't seem place multiple instances of characters like it's mentioned in the tips, tricks and shortcuts post (http://lumion3d.com/forum/f-a-q/lumion-2-tips-tricks-and-shortcuts/ (http://lumion3d.com/forum/f-a-q/lumion-2-tips-tricks-and-shortcuts/)).

"Place object mode -> (CTRL) + Left-click: Randomly place 10 copies of the currently active object library model."

Can anybody can help me with this?

That method works if you have the object place tool selected.

So it is identifying which object needs to have multiple copies of made and placed.

If one of the other transform tools such as Move is currently active then the Ctrl and click is associated with selection and movement actions rather than placement.

Also bear in mind that all the duplicates (except the one which is placed where you click) will end up on the Lumion terrain, not on your imported model, so you might have to move them up manually. Oh and before you ask: the developers are already aware of this limitation :)
