Title: Lumion Landscape Limits
Post by: Member1699 on January 04, 2011, 09:01:26 pm
1. how can the lumion landscape be manipulated beyond the original square of lumion terrain?

2. can a portion of the manipulated lumion landscape be moved as is to another portion of the lumion landscape?

3. when importing a terrain map (.dds) how can this terrain map be placed/moved/rotated relative to the editable square of lumion landscape?

Right now it can't. In the future you will be able to generate larger terrains

2. can a portion of the manipulated lumion landscape be moved as is to another portion of the lumion landscape?

Not if its part of the landscape tile. You can however add custom landscape elements (Objects>Nature) that blend in very nicely with the landscape itself. You can also create your own landscape parts and add the landscape material to them. If you do this you can also paint your own models with the landscape material. This way you can create very detailed landscapes with great ease.

3. when importing a terrain map (.dds) how can this terrain map be placed/moved/rotated relative to the editable square of lumion landscape?

Current landscape size is 2km square. It's best to adept the same size ratio or something close to this to your .dds terrain map.

Thanks for clarifying that one Noire. After a fortnight of waiting I'm sure poor Steeters can now finally move on Wink

i'm not good in english - in my research with SketchUp i think that territory of the scene is 1kilometer x 1 kilometer. i was export .dds file ( it is 1024x1024px ) from Lumion and insert it in SU - then i make that plane 1024x1024 meters and than draw a box on it. then export-import that box in Lumion and it stands right in the place and all around was the same size. so who is right and maybe you know Aaron how to use Lumion landscape in another 3d apps?
