Title: Anyone knows how to get through with the registration?
Post by: Member32284 on March 19, 2012, 07:11:35 am
It keeps kicking me out without providing me with an activation code, and once I am in customer area it asks for it. This is nuts. When you try to register it sent a code first time but then it froze once I clicked on register. I allowed their scripts, but to no effect. I had to reload page, and this erased this activation key. Now I cannot get another one for the same email address, so I used another email, but then it did NOT generate the key, but rather sent me right away to customer area where it again requested the code it did NOT give me. Trying to report it to their support email address provided on their website returns mail server error, so I cannot even ask them for help. Finally trying to access forum with a bug report link returns another error stating that there is no such a link working.

Are they really trying so hard to get rid of potential new customers, or are they really so bad programmers?

How does one obtain another activation key when the first one did not work?
I cannot download evaluation version. Obviously if I cannot do it with a free version there is no way I would risk money for a not working full version... right? Any Ideas what should I do.  I tried with two different browsers, one of them has no script blocker at all... so it should NOT freeze at all, but it does - once you type in the code to state you are a human, not a bot. When you refresh this page it reloads this page but tells you to go to customer area, where the whole issue happens.

Running Vista 64 on Quad with 8G RAM, there should be no issues, but they are, why?

Any wisdom would be appreciated.

Hi 3Dguy, that sounds frustrating.

I assume that you're trying to download Lumion Free.

You don't actually need to enter an activation code for Lumion Free (aka, a Product Key as it's called in the Customer Area). All that is required is to register an account. You then need to go to the Customer Area to download Lumion Free (see the screenshot).

Trying to report it to their support email address provided on their website returns mail server error, so I cannot even ask them for help.

Did you send it to info [at] act-3d.com? (It seems to work fine here)

Finally trying to access forum with a bug report link returns another error stating that there is no such a link working.

The link would forward you to the Bug Section, but unfortunately this section is only available for paying customers. Lumion Free users need to post questions in the General Discussion section (as you've already done).

No, actually, it's the first time I've seen a report like yours. It sounds like the script blocker really messed things up the first time, and that the browser cookie can't quite work out what happened when it couldn't execute the script. Arthur & Remko created this system, and I'm unfortunately no expert, but perhaps you'll have to locate the Lumion3d.com cookies, delete them and log in again?

Either way, please let me know if you can see the Lumion Free download link in the Customer Section (please refer to the screenshot below).

Hi Morten, Thank You for getting so fast back -so I am not alone on this planet LOL, there are humans here... ok getting down to the "business"

I assume that you're trying to download Lumion Free.

yes I am.

Aaaha, it must have been due to my very late hour, (mid of the night), that I did not realize, the link for free version sits under the first window. Now, in the morning, once I red your reply, I found it right away, and as of now I am downloading with relatively decent speed of around  350k/s, so in 15 min I would have my first answer, and yes, thanks to You... feeling groovy again LOL.

Did you send it to info [at] act-3d.com? (It seems to work fine here)

Yes it was the link on support page - http://lumion3d.com/forum/index.php?board=10.0 (http://lumion3d.com/forum/index.php?board=10.0)

and it still returns the same unpleasant error. If this address should be used by paid customers, I am sure it should say so before one clicks the link. On the other note, why would designers limit their testing and bug reporting base to paid customers only will remain a mystery to me - my eyebrow lifter. This is like shooting yourself in leg, why? (please don't answer LOL), we know the answer and trust me, one thing I am allergic to on this planet is a BS, or stupidity, aka lack of thinking which many people demonstrate way to often in life.

Yes, you are right, it would look so, but... I tried two different browsers of which the second has no blocker at all, and in my Firefox the blocker allows for js, and then I allowed for this site (whole domain). so it should not happen, but it did. I am glad to find the solution, which occurred to be obvious - the download link was just a bit below (kind' a hidden in my window) and I paid too much attention to the first window on top (also in your screen shot) stating you need to provide activation code, which I remembered it just have generated for me, but as I said it was lost in a process, when I had to refresh locked up page.

Either way, please let me know if you can see the Lumion Free download link in the Customer Section (please refer to the screenshot below).

Yes, I just completed the download of my copy and will go now for the adventure of installation and evaluation, checking for updates, and free extensions if any (the usual stuff). I cross my fongers for Lumion's 64 bit architecture support, as with many other programs it is not fully supported and we-the users take heat so to speak. Nevertheless thank You again for extending a helping hand.

The link to the Bugs and Issues section

We have taken swift action, and the people who were responsible for this have been escorted to an undisclosed location in the woods where they will be subjected to various correctional treatments that (hopefully) don't violate too many clauses in the Geneva conventation :)

On a more serious note, the support page has now been updated :)

Have fun testing Lumion Free!
