I work for a water design company and we are desperate to find a program that would allow us to make a variety of animated fountains : rising jets, arches, waterfalls, cascades, splash fountains and mist. Is it possible do archive this in Lumion? If so what version and plug in is needed?

If you can model a 3D mesh that works for your purposes you can apply a texture to it that moves like water. It is an animated texture so it does not have any collision properties (but does produce foam around an object and by edges).
Guess it depends on what you are looking for.
Try the free version and you will be able to see if it is for you. :)

There's also the special effects plugin with a bunch of fountain varieties.

And if you go here Model Library in Lumion (http://lumion3d.com/forum/index.php?topic=2966.0) you can see the standard sample/templated effects included in the plug-in. You can then alter some of the settings as attached image.

Do not desperate, Anya - there is 3DMAX that can do it perfectly.

Lumion can't animate the parameters just jet but it sounds like a great idea.

You could achieve this with Lumion Basic and the Special Effects plug-in (this plug-in includes fountains, steam, smoke and fires).
The best place to start is to try the latest version of Lumion Free:
http://lumion3d.com/free/ (http://lumion3d.com/free/)
Even though Lumion Free only ships with 3 different fountain presets, you can edit the properties to achieve a variety of effects (water "curtains" etc). There's also a Waterfall material in Lumion which can be applied to imported models. The water will then flow in the direction of the sloping sections of the imported model.

Thank you everyone, will try the free version of Lumion.
