Title: daylight inside in closed rooms
Post by: Member3582 on January 04, 2012, 07:34:46 pm
problem with closed rooms if daylight setting outside. the closed rooms get light inside from daylight.

im work at the time on the underground garage with overhead light. i want see the shadows and light from the overheadlight (daylight setting) but the hole underground garage get lights from daylight overall. thats not right. i try to simulate daylight with inside light settings together.

I don't know how much of your video takes place outside the car park but if it's mainly indoors and the primary lighting consists of IES lights, try with these lighting settings:

Weather -> Ambient Brightness -> 0.02
Weather -> Ambient Saturation -> 0
Weather -> Sun Brightness -> 0.07

By lowering the Ambient Brightness and Ambient Saturation you are reducing the impact that the irradiance map has on objects in Lumion. The irradiance map will lighten (and colour) surfaces that face the sky, eg, floors - and darken surfaces that face the ground, eg, ceilings.

Here's how that looks with sunlight + IES lights in one the AutoCAD sample scenes:

Another old skool tip is to place an ambient light (an IES light with a cone angle of 4 and a small range scale) in an area that receives direct sunlight to simulate reflected light:

And lastly, again assuming that most of the video takes place inside the car park, remember to place Lights -> Utilities -> Reflection control somewhere inside the car park, and adjust the Weather settings to update the 360 degree reflection map.

If you don't do that, reflective materials in the scene will appear to reflect the sky, even though they are indoors. The reason for this is that the default position for the 360 degree reflection texture which is projected onto reflective materials is somewhere above the scene.

So you clicked on the Target light(s) button, then clicked somewhere in your scene to make the light point towards that position and nothing happened?
