Title: information about this effect
Post by: Member1924 on December 10, 2011, 01:02:09 am
Hi all

reviewing Lumion contest winner and special mentions I've found something I'm looking for a while and ask for you "gurues" f any of you can support me.

Nano3d Virtual Studio done a nice jobs for the constest and in their first video's part use an effect I'm trying to learn. Surely it's complicated or maybe not.

I've cut a part from their work to show what I'm trying yo explain if any of you know how.

Congratulations to Nano3d Virtual Studio and all other whom take part in Lumion's contest

Looks like it, but I did not think Lumion could import SU animations, can it?

The first part IMO is not Lumion but SU section cut animation (spiced up with some native SU fog). Look at the Lumion logo: it only appears when he changes to Lumion (after the "blackout" effect).

In fact, even if you cannot import SU cameras to make nice transition effects between SU linework and rendered Lumion, you can take the first frame into SU and make a PhotoMatch scene there. Then add something before and transit to a Lumion scene after. That way it could be even more exciting. (I have tested it and it works)

You'd need an external video editor however. For some reason, such a (seemingly "simple") movie effect as a transition, is not included in Lumion. Otherwise it would be enough to insert a static image before and render it for two seconds or so before the transition.

Not sure I follow what you are saying here, can you explain, as you can use images or video clips and fade in/out or blur (although theres an issue with image scaling).

Well, to my best knowledge, there isn't a simple transition effect in Lumion. There is a blur effect but a simple transition without blurring, no.

Solved, efectively, this effect its a simple slice animation in SKP.
