Lumion “Suggestions†(in no particular order)
- Easier way to select objects - sometimes the selection “orb†is way off of the screen.
- Add-on content creator - input DAE/FBX files - add material and animations (possibly a separate product)
- Content Library Management - allowing for user content to be stored in standard locations (along side of Lumion content)
- Square terrain brushes
- User defined terrain textures
- “Listening†manipulations (ala Sketchup/Revit) - once a manipulation is started, exact values can then be keyed in.
- Radiosity
- Named camera positions
- Set default Camera Height
- Option for replication of Sketchup mouse control
- Easy interface for adding additional content such as Trees from SpeedTree.
- Link to extremely high quality renderings such as Kerkythea, Maxwell or Vray (same images or movies just using a plug-in as the rendering engine - no matter the time)
- Object animation paths - including recursive paths.
Added 2011-11-04
- Horizons (far trees, mountains, etc.)
- Collision detection
- Simple scripting for things like doors and elevators
Added 2001-11-10
- Orbit
- Move inferences to X/Y axis
- Standalone EXE
- Selection/Deselection on hotkeys
- Ctrl Z Undo

Option for replication of Sketchup mouse control
If only that was possible, I'd love it.

@David William Edwards
I second each and everyone of your wishes... those changes would be very welcomed. Great list.

Straight “up†button
Do you mean something other than the Q (up) and E(down) buttons?
-
Texture burning?

Texture burning?
Sorry - meant to say "baking" - I'm getting old and have been doing this stuff WAY too long...

Yes! Where are those hotkeys listed? I didn't find them on the help display...
Thanks

David,
This is a good list, I agree with many of them like better navigation, radiosity, lighting etc.
I gotta say that I find navigation the most difficult, not being a 'gamer' is a disadvantage it seems as my kids can whizz through Lumion with ease, I do like the Sketchup navigation controls best and if that was at all possible it certainly would make Lumion alot more user friendly.
My biggest beef right now is placing of objects, aligning and sizing is just so quirky, takes too much time to populate heavy scenes.
I'd also like to import scenes from SU that keep the same coordinates, so if I need to add stuff I can just import them and they will 'paste in place'.
-
While you cannot "paste in place", if you have two components whose origins are at the same spot in SU, you can accurately align them in Lumion.
See some screenshot posted in this topic:

A good dose of SU-like inferencing would be nice...
As I get more into the app, I will general keep a wish list in place as I've done with Sketchup and Revit. Thanks!

Great list.
I think the content library management should be top priority.
Wouldn't it be great to create user libraries so we can populate our scenes with some different things then the stuff that's in the standard library!

User Libraries are so needed. hamstrung comes to mind.
