I've downloaded and installed the 1.7gb lumion package, and after following the instructions step-by-step, Im still not able to connect to the server. I either have to retry connecting to server or lumion freezes at splash-screen

PS I run kaspersky IS 2011, so if you can give me an idea how to go about setting up a port, pls let me know

Hi,
This tutorial shows how to create exceptions in your firewall in Kaspersky Internet Security 2011. In essence most firewalls can be configured to allow applications opening a port. In that case you can add Lumion.exe to the allow list. Another option is to let any application open port 7001 by adding such a rule to your firewall.

Thanks for the help, but after several more hours of struggling, I realised it was my service provider that was at fault. So for now, I sign in with another SP until my USB key arrives.

Wow you have a service provider that's blocking ports? I would get another one.
