Title: Problems with walking people
Post by: Member1210 on December 09, 2010, 08:33:30 am
Hi, I have some problems with the walking people. They are a very great feature, but I sometimes have problems to let them walk like I want to.

I sometimes had the problem that from one take to the other (in the storyboard) the people were gone or the other way around. Let me give you an exmple: I wanted to let them walk in to my screen. But that did not happen. First you see a fade in into my screen, the camera is standing still, in the next take, same camera position, suddenly the 2 people are there and start walking out of the screen. I wanted it the other way araound! And how can it be, that suddenly an object appears, which was somewhere else before and that before the animation of the object has started. I think that must be a bug and this function must be redisigned. A great think would be that the people walk around more automatically, like in crysis for example. There you can define a shape in which they are allowed to walk, than the software calculates all their possible positions and the scene is alife.

Same for the cars. Cars animation would be great with paths or even in conjunction with a road editor.

The animation effect is indeed a clip effect so that in the next clip they are at the original build position.

That sounds logic, but that is not the problem. The problem I had is as follows, I hope this time I describe better:

My 2 persons are standing on a specific position, lets say A. In the first take thery are standing at A. In the second take, same camera position, I have added a movement for the people, I just wanted them to move from A to B, so there should be no sudden jump. But that isn t the fact, in the second take the 2 people are suddenly standing at position B and are moving to position A. How can I direct that better. Is it possible to make a movement which takes the whole movie? Would be much better and easier to handle.

Well what we will re-enable again later is that you can add the effects also on the whole movie.

that is necessary, thx. And the problem with being at position A and suddenly juming to position B? What is that for an effect?

A bug? I'll see if I can reproduce it.
