Title: materials disappear
Post by: Member4183 on September 07, 2011, 12:59:36 am
I have a question!
When I import 3DS file which is exported from Sketchup to Lumion, the materials are fine.
However, when i import 3Ds max file to Lumion, the materials disappear.
I use the original system in 3Ds max 2011 instead of V-ray system.
What's going wrong?  ???
Thanks

Does this happen if you export from Max with OpenCollada (recommended exporter for import to Lumion, note not the Autodesk Collada) rather than 3DS?  Alternative also FBX.

Also, can you read the 3DS file with all materials and textures in some other 3D viewer or tool such as RH Deep Explorer, or even re-import back into Max?

Did you use standard-materials in 3dsmax (no architectural-, shell- and multisubobject-materials etcetera)? Only the standard-material of 3dsmax is supported by Lumion.

The prefered formats are Collada or FBX. You can export both from 3DS Max!
