Hi,
Are your trees loaded into lumion via lumion standard lumion library or are they loaded through custom object library? With the latter, you could press CTRL + click into the icon library that shows up when you are placing objects into lumion. That used to work until build 2. I have complained in the forum about this, but no answer from lumion team yet ( you can look for this post in the announcements forum). If your libraries are
loaded via the lumion standard library, then lumion team members should be able to help you through this.

Regards,

Alickn

Hi Alickn, sorry, I didn't notice the post you're referring to, so it must have slipped through the net. In any case, the thumbnail generation process has changed a little to avoid accidents, since we use CTRL for a bunch of other operations, and in the past it proved too easy to mess up thumbnails :)

Anyway, the way to update the thumbnails of user-imported/object library models is to select the object, for example using CTRL + rectangular selection. Then place the object and the camera in the desired positions followed by CTRL + Left-click the thumbnail.

For those of you with the Special FX plugin/Lumion Ultimate, this procedure also allows you to save the particle effect settings, so you're free to customize these objects to your liking.

I created a fountain with a bunch of emitters and I had to go through each one to lower the randomness setting.  I know, I know, just use alt+move, but I already had them in position before I figured out what the randomness setting did.

So if I ctrl+left click on the emitter with the lower setting, will it overwrite the default emitter or create a new one with the new settings?

Looks like it overwrites.  OK, thats one option and a user may want to have that setting overwritten by their preferred settings, but we would also want to create the SpecialFX as new settings and retain the other in the library.

Note, from what I have tested, that for the effect to be updated it does require selection, re: Options --> Selection --> Select, otherwise if just click on the thumbnail it will update the thumbnail picture OK, but does not save the settings.

Morten, looks like another for the Wish List.  Maybe some future update will have more features for control and management of the Library, such as update, add new, remove.

Yes, for the time being you need to copy-paste the .spe + .spe.inn files manually to create a new fire.
