Title: DOF Issues
Post by: Member3612 on July 15, 2011, 03:20:01 pm
I was hoping someone could help me out in regards to the Depth of Field effect and its usage.

I have attempted to use it in several clips but have been unable to achieve the "rack focus" look. Which would be done by key framing the focus distance and altering the fstop. However whenever I place my second key frames and play back the timeline, no change in fd or fstop take place. Has anyone else had this issue?

Here are the steps I am taking, correct me if I am wrong.

1) Key frame at the beginning of the timeline and set your focus distance and F stop values.

2) Scrub the timeline and then set new key frames at the end of the clip. Alter the focus distance and F stop values.

3) Play the timeline.

When I do this, no change takes place when the clip plays through. However both sets of key frames are completely different. What am I doing wrong?

If anyone could help out that would be great!

Ya here at 0:21, there is a rack focus happening from the background to the cat. I haven't yet been able to do it. Could this just be a bug?

It works for me. Try not putting it at the ends of the clip.
