Title: Can't delete or move people or plant objects...
Post by: Member2766 on May 05, 2011, 10:06:23 pm
Could I have entered into some sort of strange mode or something?
I was going to try to animate a walking person, but when I got back to the Build mode, I can't move or delete any objects.  It allows you to scale/rotate/move vertical...just no delete or move horizontal.  Just displays those to as red wireframe as opposed to the green box/wireframe of the items it allows you to tweak.

Make sure you did not inadvertently lock the object in place.  Go to your build mode, select the object menu, click the modify object button (three lines), select your object, click transformation, click lock position, click off.  You should then be able to modify the object.  If you hold Ctrl and window select a group of objects, or click modify selection, select similar; you then can modify a group at once using the above technique.  Hope this helps.

edit: interestingly enough, the red box does not turn back to green, but will still allow you to edit/ delete.  maybe a little bug there.

I have noticed that the bounding box remains red as well; however, I believe it's an issue of the object remaining selected.  I haven't encountered a situation in which I would not prefer the opposite.

Thanks - If I ever can recreate this I will try it.  I ended up backing out and reloading the file and everything seemed to be unlocked.  But at least I now know what the box with the 3 horizontal lines is and what it is used for.  I hadn't clicked on that yet, so didn't know you could lock an object.   Not sure why it was behaving that way.
