Which graphic card is ideal for Lumion?

hi guys,
I watched some sample videos from Lumion and see the redering is way better than mine (2xNvidia Quadro 600 1gb). I'm curiosing that if there is any specific graphic card is more compatibla with Lumion. Any suggestion.
I also see some effect that material glowing under the sun, soft shadow, anti-aliasing, smooth but mine look very dry, flat.
my computer specs is: Intel i7 x990 3.47ghz (12 CPUs), 24gb ram, and dual Nvidia Quadro 600 1gb/each but my rendering is look suck. and i also did raise the level to the last one (4 stars). i wish there are much more higher level so i could test.
also the shadow is totally unacceptable. I cannot find any anti-aliasing option.
Milion thanks guys.

Hi sizaus, sorry about the late reply.

You're right - the graphics card is not powerful enough to run Lumion:

http://lumion3d.com/forum/f-a-q/lumion-2-minimum-hardware-requirements/

If you do decide to upgrade to a high-end GTX card, such as the Nvidia GTX 680, bear in mind that you often need to upgrade your power supply as well.

In one of my scenes, not big but with 3500 trees, flowers, bushes and 4500k Verts
the performance was 10-12fps.

That's a lot of plants, but good to know you were able to work with that many in a scene.

Time for new machine...?

Of course, always   :-D, and at same time include an upgrade to Lumion v3  ::)  :-D  (which does work best with good PC hardware, see topic on recommended hardware specs).

More seriously though, it may be the motherboard that's now the bottleneck, older limited bus, limited speed and not in par for the new CPU's etc.  The GTX670 is a good fast card (AFAIK), there's a factory clocked card that comes close to the 680 for a good comparative price.

It is strange that you did not get a better onscreen FPS for the GTX670 though.  I wonder if you might have the Setting --> Limit Low Memory turned on?  If yes, turn it off as with 4GB you will be fine, then close Lumion and re-start it.

Hi usman048

The GTX 970 has a Passmark of 8630, so should work with moderately complex scenes through to the lower scale of highly complex.

Refer further:
1.  LUMION 5: Minimum hardware requirements. (same for prior versions).

2.  Lumion Web Site: Specifications.

3.  Passmark: Videocard Benchmarks.

Depending on your budget you have other choices in cards, such as the GTX 980 (4GB) and Titan Black, Titan X.

For some recent pointers on complexity of scene, please refer our replies in topic for buy lenova y50 laptop.
