It would be nice to have the option to pick a location, maybe in the next update?

I would like the location to be able to be shared eventually so that multiple people can work on one project. But that is future music :)

Where would you save them if you could pick now? On another drive?

I keep files in seperate job folders for projects.  I have folders set up within each job for CAD files, 3ds max files, rendering files....  I now have a Lumion folder, but can not chose to  save to that folder.  Helps keeps things organized by projects.

I began a project on one computer but I want to finish it on another.
I transfered a "library" folder and "scenes" folder from one computer to another, both computers have the same version of Lumion. In the second computer, the program shows a window with the error "target layer -1", and not allows to close it or exit from this report. Only with "Task Manager" I was able to exit the program. What I'm doing wrong and what is that error message?

Hi Andrey,

1) Which version of Lumion are you using?

2) What happens if you keep pressing the return key when the "Target layer -1" message appears?

3) Can you upload the Scene/Library files that are causing the problem?

Hi Morten,

1)I'm using the 5-version.

2) When I press the return key, computer makes sound (like: "peeep", that remind an error sound), and that's it, the message not disappears.

3) I'm sorry, I don't understand your question. Do you want me to upload this files to you?

Please update to the latest version of Lumion: SP2 Build 8.

SP2 Build 8 is available in the 'Customer Area' above this thread.

Transferring Scenes/Library folders to other PCs works fine in that version.

The default location is in the MyDocuments folder.

Each version of Lumion saves to it's own folder: Lumion v4 to C:\Users\username\Documents\Lumion 4.

Imported objects get saved to the sub-folder \Library
Scenes gets saved to the sub-folder \Scenes

The only time they will not is if that folder has been re-directed using the Microsoft re-direction method.

Can you do a scan of your PC to locate where for example a scene file is being saved - call it 'locatemetest'.

How are you trying to open the files?

And which sort of files are you trying to open?

Lumion files are opened via the Lumion Load Scene tab and selecting a scene from the set of thumbnails of scenes saved.  This directly looks in the \Scenes folder and loads all the required scene data and imported objects for that scene.

Imported objects (from SkUp, Revit etc) are not directly opened, but accessed using the Lumion Imported Objects Library to place in a scene.  Once placed, the scene keeps a record of which ones from the Library are used.

So in all cases (except for LS3/4 Viewer files), a user does not need to use Windows Explorer to open files (as do other applications by using File Open or directly clicking on a file), it's all handled via the Lumion GUI.

Understood. please tell me, because I have not got to this point yet, but I see only 9 scene slots for thumbnails of scenes saved.  Now, when I get to the 10th project,  will I be able to open that project thumbnails/ scenes, for example when I get to the 11th, 12th, 13th, 14th, thumbnail and so on...if not, I will be in a world of trouble with my clients if I cant save their project, and we have reversion's to do as we develop each / individual projects.
