Hello,

I've got a question, hope it hasn't been asked before.... ???

If I have a Sketchup model imported into Lumion as Collada file, how can I use 2d people with alpha transparency inside Lumion? Do I have to load each one inside Lumion or can I do it from Sketchup?

Best!

This is a good question & it would be helpful to have a reply posted by Lumion Staff.
Many of us Sketchup users have 100's if not 1000's of these components created.
Thank you

I do not know if I understand your question.
But the ideal is to do a vertical plane in the right measure and with the origin at the center of the base, import into Lumion and apply the "png" texture "billboard" with alpha channel.
There are post dealing with this matter.

It's really easy to import a billboard from Sketchup. Just make sure the origin is at the 'rotation point'. For that point you can place many of the billboards. Importing many billboards at once is not possible yet since the importer does not get enough information to establish the rotation point for each billboard. This is atypical issue which can be solved when we have a sketchup plug-in.

Sorry again, best regards

OK

Here are the simple steps to transform 2D SU Face Me (Billboard) components into 2d Face Me (Billboard) Lumion component.

1. Make sure the (2D) SU Face Me component is properly made with the front face aligned (perfectly) with the red axis & the center of the base of the component is at the intersection of the red, green & blue axis.
2. Export the (2D) SU Face Me component via .dae file
3. Import .dae component file into Lumion
4. Paint the imported 2D component with the "Billboard" texture in Lumion which automatically transforms the component into a 2D Lumion Face Me component.
