Hi

How would you create (with Lumion) the yellowish brightness in the lower floors as done in attached illustration?

I have tried to place some lights, but it does seem a but 'dead'. How would you do it?

I thing that I have to add a lot of Photoshop afterwards.

Hi jorgensen!!

If you mean the lines in the street it's quite easy.

In your 3Dmodel prepare the lines you want to shine, apply to them any material (different than others you're using in your model) and when you import into Lumion apply to this material emissive quality.... And that's all!!!

Thanks for your input.

What I was looking for was a way to create the bright yellow lights in the groundfloor of the buildings.

I gave it a try and added a yellow color to the walls and played with it in photoshop.

Create another interior mapped skin behind the curtain wall > put some emissive on material of lumion?

You can also make the material emmissive. The windows in this shot are created from a photo and simply made emmisive. In your scene if you make the ceilings and walls inside the units emmissive they will show off a lit room. So there are two methods...one with a photo of a curtain wall or window made emmissive and one by making the inside walls emmissive. You can also do it by placing lights as you tried already but you need many and they all need to be positioned carefully.

As noted above, you can add emmissive materials behind the glass.  I used some free storefront jpgs for the CityLife competition.  If you play the vid, the first half is actually the night/winter scene.  You could certainly add more height to them if needed.

using Nicola's tips here are some examples...

two layers for use in lumion, one is rendered with "building" texture, the second with cristal texture, some  lights extra and voilà
