There is no such a grass material inside Lumion?

Hi. I imported a project which also has a flat terrain slab in it.
Problem is the following: I can not find a suitable grass material for that flat terrain, which will be equal to my Lumion grass terrain material.

Take a look:

Number 1 is some Lumion grass material.
Number 2 is the default Lumion grass material for this lanscape:

Where can I find a texture, or a material, for my Number 1 flat terrain, which will be the same like my Lumion terrain material (Number 2)?

Thank you.

Maybe I was not clear: "Number 1" is the flat terrain slab I am talking about, with the aplied grass material.
Do you see how it looks different from the default Lumion terrain? How can I make it equal to the default Lumion terrain?

You can change the material of your flat terrain slab by simply changing its existing material in Lumion from its imported material to a Landscape Lumion material.

This will apply the Lumion terrain textures associated with the terrain template you have chosen for the scene.

Thank you Peterm.

One more question: By changing the Lumion landscape, the material of my slab, will automatically adapt to the newly chosen Lumion landscape material?

Yes, the Lumion terrain textures are projected onto your imported terrain model, so what you actually need to do is to paint the Lumion terrain below it. In other words, place the camera above your terrain, look straight down and start painting your terrain model (even though you're actually painting the Lumion terrain below it).

I did not understand you Morten. Sorry.
Can you clear this up, a little bit, please?

Thank you.

If you apply a Landscape material to your imported terrain, this model will use the same terrain textures as the Lumion terrain immediately below your imported model. It will make more sense if you apply a Landscape material to your imported terrain model and try to paint it :)

I still do not understand you, but thank you for all the help.

The main problem is that I can not run Lumion on my PC nor at work. They (these two PCs) are simply too weak.
This is why I can only use Lumion, at my friend's PC, but not all the time, just for a few hours on a basis of few days.

This is why my posts are sometimes confusing, as I can not test it by myself in Lumion.
Sorry for that.

See the attached screenshot below. Also, watch this video - it more or less starts with applying the landscape material. After you do this, you can paint with different landscape brushes on it just as well as on the native Lumion landscape.

Thank you for the tutorial Gaieus.
I did not know I can paint the landscape. Now I know.

The only thing I did not understand in this tutorial, is the "Reload" button. What is it purpose?

If you decide to change something in your original model in your modelling application, you can do it, re-export the model with the changes and reload it in Lumion. All material changes you have made in the material editor to your original model will be retained and you can go on working in Lumion and need not start over from scratch.

Thank you for the reply.

But I am a bit confused.
How will the Lumion know, that this is the same object (after importing the new edited one)?

Because I need to name the new object differently from the previous one.

You can call your model anything you like, just make sure that the exported .dae file has the same name as the one you previously imported into Lumion.

There's more information about additional Reload Model options in the Tips & Tricks thread:

http://lumion3d.com/forum/index.php?topic=638.0

Edit Materials -> (CTRL) + Reload Model button: Lumion will bypass the built-in texture size limit and load the model's textures in resolutions that are as close to the original textures as possible. If you apply a Standard or Lightmap material to your imported model, any texture you load will be loaded at the original resolution.

Edit Materials -> (ALT) + Reload Model button: If the name or location of an exported object file (DAE, FBX etc) has changed, this option lets you select the location/name of the file manually.

There's a small bug in build 2 which causes the texuring of the "lanscape" shader to have a different scale than the actual landscape. It's not too bad but you can see it if you pay attention because the texturing is not 100% seamless between the landscape itself and the landscape material.
