You'll only need an internet connection when you're activating and deactivating Lumion.

You basically have to deactivate Lumion first if you want to use it on another PC.

Not only if you switch between your desktop PC and your laptop PC, but also if you're about to make more fundamental changes such as reinstalling Windows or uninstalling Lumion.

An expensive dongle was only included for the first 7 months (Lumion SP1). To cut costs, an online activation system was introduced when Lumion SP2 was released.

In the unlikely event that Act-3D went out of business, I'm pretty sure they'd make sure that you could still use your Lumion (and Quest3D) licenses :)

You only an internet connection while you are activating or deactivating your license (about 3 seconds). Once you've activated Lumion, you no longer need to be online.

Example:
You're working on your desktop PC at the office (this license was activated earlier). No internet connection is required while you're working.

Before you go home after work, you deactivate the Lumion license on your office PC. You need to be online for about 3 seconds while it's being deactivated.

Back home, you turn on your laptop PC and activate Lumion. You need to be online for about 3 seconds while it's being activated.

You work for a few hours. No internet connection is required while you're working.

When you stop working, you deactivate Lumion, so that you can activate it on your office PC in the morning. You need to be online for about 3 seconds while it's being deactivated.

...and so on and so forth...

if i move to a new address, and buy a new computer .....will lumion still recognize its me ?

Yes, the Lumion license is tied to your forum account, so when you activate Lumion you're simply logging in with your forum details (User name: dazomatic, Password: *******). You can use those details anywhere in the world and on any PC, provided that you remember to deactivate Lumion before you activate it on another PC.
