Hmm, it works here (Lumion FREE SP2 Build 7).

1) You have no way of knowing this, but the cubemap reflections in the scene are only updated when you render a video in 2- and 3-star quality, not in 1-star quality. This is intentional so that 1-star videos render as fast as possible.

2) In Build mode, the reflections are only updated when you change the cloud settings in the Weather section, in order to maintain a smooth framerate while you're editing your scene.

3) And lastly, there's currently a small bug in the Cloud Settings effect: The Cloud Control slider needs to be greather than 0 - otherwise the clouds won't move during animations (this is already on the internal bug tracker list) :)

Please let us know if you still can't get it to work.

perhaps its only the glass spheres that dont reflect the moving clouds ?

Glass reflections of moving clouds also work fine on spheres - have a look at the attachment.

Please let us know if you still can't get it to work.

There's either a bug or maybe I'm not explaining things thoroughly enough, so let's find out :)

Option A: Better explanation
For performance reasons, reflections are currently not updated in real-time in Lumion.

In the Movie section, reflections are only updated while you render a movie in 2- or 3-star mode. In other words, the reflections on the sphere will not be updated if you:
  • Render a movie in 1-star mode.
  • Drag the red time slider back and forth, even though the clouds move across the sky while you do that.

In the Build section, reflections are only updated once when you change the cloud settings in the Weather section, in order to maintain a smooth framerate while you're editing your scene.

Option B: Is there a bug?
Bearing that in mind, please follow these instructions and let us know if you still can't get it to work:

1) Download the attached zip file and unzip it.
2) Copy the files in "Scenes" to Documents/LumionFree/Scenes.
3) Copy the files in "Library" to Documents/LumionFree/Library.
4) Start Lumion Free and make sure that Settings -> "Low mem mode" is switched off.
5) Load the scene called "SphericalReflections" and go to the movie section.
6) Render the movie in 2- or 3-star mode (1280x720).
7) Play the .mp4 file. Do the clouds move both in the sky and on the sphere?

P.S. Running Lumion in Bootcamp should work fine (I've tested this using Windows 7 64-bit on a MacBook Pro), and as you can see I'm using the same template file (Flat Terrain) as you in the attached scene.

Thanks for uploading the video.

1) Please install Lumion Free SP2 Build 7, so that we can rule out version differences. The download link is available in the "Customer Area" in the top right corner of this screen.

2) Then follow the instructions in my post above (Option B) and let us know what the result of the test is.

Yup, would be cool to have a global direction slider for wind which would affect water, particle effects, swaying branches, clouds etc. Easy for me to say though, I'm not the one who would have to implement it :)

There is already a wind direction slider for the Ocean. Could that be implemented to the other things as well? (Actually the Ocean is really cool to use for river flowing, too although there is the waterfall material that also flows but you need a considerable slanting for it)
