hello !

I'm trying Lumion demo and on various models i've imported I can't select some parts and modify the material on it: I mean the part seems well selected but when clicking to modify the material nothing happens ??? Other parts of the same models are working fine.

Any idea about what's going on ?

Try and make sure all parts have a standard material assigned to them prior to export/import.

Also, on some parts of a model, dependend on the complexity, it can take a little longer for the material editor to kick in.

Well, thanx Aaron for that quick answer.

Unfortunately, I've check the models and they're all with standard materials applied on it.

It's just that with some specifics parts, the material editor dont' kick in at all even if waiting a LONG time (a clue that nothing happens is that my HD don't "load" when clicking that parts).

Maybe it's a bug? I don't know ? But it happened with various models from various origins: sketchup, max...

Any other ideas please ?

If you click on the mesh and you just have a black string on the bottom with the red X on the right means that you already apply a material on that mesh.

Or ( probably, I'm experiencing this lot of times ) in 3ds ( or whatever ) you have the same material shared with multiple meshes, so what you need to do is apply another standard material to the mesh you want to apply a different material, export again and reload, job done :)

Ive had this issue myself a couple of times.

What solved it for me was applying a multi-sub material inside 3dsmax with only standard materials inside it.

Perhaps it works for you as well gonzohot?

Ok, RT-Visualisation ! I've tried that and it worked !

Now I know that i have to check my materials shared before the export: thanx a lot everybody for the help!
