Hi

I have not yet tried, but is there a 'material' overwrite function, when creating animations?

It could come in handy, if you creating a animation with a large scale white model, and when the camera pauses, the view could shift to a rendered image (overwrite texture off), and then back to the white model (overwrite texture on) and then the camera moves again.

The easiest way is to render a still image and fade it in as an Overlay Image:
New effect -> Color Effects -> Overlay Image

Alternatively, you would have to add 2 versions of the large scale model (1 rendered, 1 plain white), place them in 2 different layers, and use the Show/Hide Layer effects.

Well, Morten beat me but at least I know I am on the right track (with his second "solution")

There's no such override (although some "clay render type" has been requested already) but you could do this by exporting certain clips twice while reloading the model in between (or import the model in two states; one with textures and the other one with no textures or something neutral) and place them on two, different layers.

Then in a video editor, it would be easy to add some transition effect mixing the two clips. Or use the hide/show layer function between clips (I really wish there were a "real", simple transition effect)

... this option would depend on the user's pc configuration. I can imagine that a big model and then twice of these could stop the pc from working with a posibillity to crash.

Nevertheless, it's an option but an option to switch on/off all materials and change it to 1 prefered color would be nice too.
