I have seen the new shop and i have a question....
1000 credits cost 150 Euro so is it the price of a plug-in ?
It cost 5000 credits for Lumion basic and 10000 for ultimate so all the plug-in cost 750 Euro, am I right ?
As announced, Is there still 7 plug-in and do your so nice customers will have one plugin for free ?  :-D ( http://lumion3d.com/forum/index.php?topic=992.msg5866#msg5866 )

You should get 1 plugin for free if you already had a license.

1 plugin is 1000 credits indeed

We finished 5 plugin packs now and the other 4 or 5 will be introduced later. The ultimate edition will always get the plugin packs for free. So with time the Ultimate edition will become much more attractive.

If you buy 1 plugin pack the credit cost of the ultimate goes down with the amount of the plugin pack cost.

You are (guys and girls of Lumion) fantastic ! What a great marketing policy, your plug-in is a little more expansive as expected but i think it is better like that and I find this very honest ...

Long life to Lumion !  :-D

So, If I purchase, for example, three plugin packs at 1000 credits each, and then decide to purchase Ultimate, will I only have to spend 2000 more credits?  And once I have Ultimate, I will no longer be required to purchase plugin packs, correct?

Yes, good question.

...If you buy 1 plugin pack the credit cost of the ultimate goes down with the amount of the plugin pack cost.

Would this mean then that the following scenario is correct even later when there are about 9-10 plugins out?

  • One starts buying plugins as (s)he needs them, one by one, project by project
  • When (s)he reaches the purchase of altogether 5 plugins (that makes the difference between "Basic" and "Ultimate")
  • (S)he will automatically have the "Ultimate" version
  • And get all the rest of the plugins for free

I.e purchasing the "Ultimate" version does not only mean that one gets the plugins when (s)he purchases for 5,000 credits in one pack, in advance but also one by one?

(That would be a merciful step...)

I have a few concrete questions before deciding which path to choose.

1. What is the planned content of the future 4-5 plugins?

2. Will these plugins come before Version 2?

3. Since you plan to release a new major version each year, Version 2 should come in November-December 2011, right?

4. What will the upgrade cost be from Ultimate Version 1 to Ultimate Version 2?

5. Will you upgrade to DirectX 11 and add hardware-level supersampling in Version 2?

6. Will Lumion credits stay at the rate of 1,000 credits = 150 Euro?

7. Where can I preview the contents of the new vegetation and people/animals packs?

Hi

Not sure if this has been a topic: Is it possible to transfer credit from one licensed user to another licensed user? Eg, as a gift or there being no need to claim the credit to purchase additional plugins, etc.

If not, I think this would be a great feature to be added.

Are your available plugins 1.0Sp2? Also the plugins will follow Lumion version releases or are independent?

There will be more plug-ins and ultimate will still include all off them.

Is this right?
I understand it this way:
If i buy the current ultimate-edition, all the following plugins of further versions will be included for ever.
If its so, i´ll buy it immediately.  8) Please answer.

Hey guys, here's some preliminary information about the content/functionality in the plugin Packs:
http://lumion3d.com/forum/index.php?topic=1222.0

Here are some answers to all your questions about the credit system, upgrades, Lumion Basic versus Lumion Ultimate etc.

The first plugin Pack is free for Lumion Basic customers; if you go to the Customer Area there should be 1000 credits on your account.

We obviously want to keep adding new content and functionality to the existing plugin Packs to make them worth the investment.

Since you get the first plugin Pack for free (1000 credits) as a Lumion Basic customer, it will only cost 4000 credits to upgrade (minus the cost of any plugins you already own).

Example
If you get 1 plugin for free, then purchase 3 plugin Packs at 1000 credits each, and finally decide to upgrade to Lumion Ultimate, you will only have to spend 1000 more credits. And once you have Lumion Ultimate, you will no longer be required to purchase plugin Packs.

We hope to have more plugin Packs ready later. Some of the proposed Packs are as follow (this is subject to change):
  • Model Pack (both models for interior and exterior scenes)
  • Sound Pack (3D sounds | Add soundtrack to movies | Includes the 50 euro per client ACC license for sound in mp4)
  • Animation Pack (Movie effects to trigger animations | Import options for animations | Possibly
    support for advanced character animation)

I should also mention that there will be a whole range of ways to earn credits in the future, for example by helping us sell Lumion, or by providing us with models for the object library. So upgrading should be a lot more affordable if you help us out.

In addition, you will also see an expansion of the base object library in Lumion Basic/Ultimate once version 2 is released in late 2011.

EDIT: I am clearly making people more confused by speculating about the upgrade fee, so there's no point posting anything until we know for sure what Act-3D have decided.

Please stay tuned for an official statement from Act-3D regarding the cost of the upgrade from Lumion Basic/Ultimate 1 to 2.

Regarding DirectX 11 hardware-level supersampling, there are currently no plans to upgrade to v11 just yet. However, as Ferry already mentioned in another post, we will probably make rendering in 3-star mode available by using 2x or 4x anti-aliasing instead of 16x, and then add a 4 star mode for 16x sub-pixel AA, so you have more options depending on how tight your deadline is.

1,000 credits will indeed stay at 150 Euro for the foreseeable future, unless the Euro crashes or we experience hyperinflation :)

Stay tuned for some examples of what's in the new plugin Packs.

P.S. Apologies for the slow download speeds - it's a 1gb conection but there's a lot of you downloading at the same time...
