Thanks for your feedback, Chris.
1.Reflections - what is reflected? just sky? i would like to have a shiney tv studio floor.
Planar reflections (aka mirror reflections) are not yet supported in Lumion. Instead, an approximation is used where a 360 degree reflection texture is rendered and projected onto all reflective surfaces. It doesn't result in perfect raytraced reflections, but rather gives you the illusion that objects are reflective. In the upcoming
Lumion 2.1 Build 1, all object types are rendered onto the 360 degree reflection texture, not just the sky.
2.Shadows - i had a close up shot of one of the people from the library, sun directly above - the edge of the shadow from his head on his shoulders was very pixelated.
In
Lumion 1 Free, lower the
Shadow -> Range slider to increase the resolution of shadows that are close to the camera. This slider has been renamed to
ShadowMap Range in
Lumion 2.
3. movie mode - when you edit individual clips with effects like bloom etc and then edit the whole movie with bloom are you doubling up the effect on that clip?
No, you just edit the
Bloom value, but bear in mind that there's a difference between
Lumion 1 Free and
Lumion 2 Ultimate, so you can't use the same settings once
Lumion 2 Free is released.
is there away to stop the people in the library from animating? i want an audience that listens rather that talks amongst themselves
The latest batch of 3D people include 7 new characters that stand relatively still/don't gesticulate. And there's more to come. These characters are part of
Lumion 2 Ultimate but can be purchased separately for
Lumion 2 Basic (
Character Plug-in).
