580 GTX 3 GB does exist and will allow you to create bigger scenes. Some early models had driver problems but with Mortens page to fix these issues it is a safe bet.

Since all content in Lumion is loaded onto your 3d card massive scenes might get really slow with 1.5 gb.

SLI mode: Lumion only uses one card - 3gb is what it sees at this point in the game.
From my understanding, Lumion does not support SLI.

As far as CPU is concerned a high frequency often helps with Lumion. At work I use a 2700k which works great.

You can look in this chart for some guidance:

http://www.cpubenchmark.net/high_end_cpus.html

You can see the frequency also there.

As far as GPU goes they also have a list:

http://www.videocardbenchmark.net/high_end_gpus.html

But we advice to choose Nvidia for now since those cards seem to work smoother with huge polygon scenes people quickly create with Lumion.

So an easy pick is a Intel Core i7-3820 with a 580 GTX.

You do not need a XEON an i7 is best. Better is an overclocked i7.

So a total system would for example be:

Dell Alienware Aurora with a 680GTX and a Intel Core i7-3820 at 3.6gh. That whole system costs 1659,- euro if I choose it at dell.nl

Will also work well for 3ds max of course.

For rendering in Lumion only the GPU matters. The CPU is probably only going to matter 3% compared to 97% of the GPU.

You can buy licenses and upgrades whenever you want.
If you order online you will receive the license keys automatically after Avangate approved the payment. When you pay with credit card/ideal, etc, this is a matter of minutes. If you pay with wire transfer it may take one or two days.
When you receive the key, you can register it on your personal account on our website and start downloading Lumion immediately.

does that mean that i can or i have to buy lumion ultimate before 1st june and i can upgrade it to lumion pro any time even after 1st of june when the offer ends????????
If yes then how much money i would have to spend to upgrade my lumion ultimat to lumion pro after 1st of june or any time in the month of june????

Hi manyachand, here's what Ferry said:
http://lumion3d.com/forum/general-discussion/pricing-upgrade-lumion-2-2-ultimate-to-lumion-2-3-pro/msg28855/#msg28855

"The Pro upgrade offer is untill 1st of June for 500 euro. After that it will probably be 750 euro. So 2.3 Ult to Pro 2.3 is 750 since the offer expired."
