Was making my first movie last night and once it started to turn I took off and went home to bed.  Get in this morning and my computer went into sleep mode after an hour and stopped the movie making process....damn  My IT guy is not in today but I think I need to add Lumion to the list to wake my computer up so it doesn't go into sleep mode or is there something else I need to do?

Thanks
Billy

Hi Billy

Lumion must run alone, no other applications have to be at the same time running, in the same way the computer must be online and running all the time.

When you are going to render an animation, take care with the "computer sleep timming schedule", reconfigure it to "never", but you can turn off your screen.

I hope this will support you

Thanks I was hoping for a software to wake or not go to sleep when Lumion is running.

...the computer must be online...

As far as I know, it does not need to be online - only when you deactivate and activate it (although it indeed used to work somehow like that).

Billy: One more important thing: disable automated updates by Windows. It can restart your computer (in case you are online) and you again lose your work. Best is to let it "notify" you and you decide when to update.

Hi Gai

The meaning about "running" is that the computer must fall down on sleeping time or shutdown during rendering animations, what is usual in main laptops to protect its screens.

regarding your suggestions absolutely agree, must be disable automatic updates, even disable the automatic email reading, this all prevents any stop in lumion rendering process and consistently the flashing appearances

I think I need to add Lumion to the list to wake my computer up so it doesn't go into sleep mode or is there something else I need to do?

Here's what Aceshigh wrote about that topic:

since I am too lazy to check my power options (and I like them to be always on, else I will have to change them everytime I will use or not use Lumion), I just open the Windows Media Player and let it play, endlessly, some relaxing music. I can even turn the volume down. The WMP stays on the background playing music while Lumion renders, and with WMP playing music, Windows DO NOT lock or turn off.
