Making a lake with a dam

I want to make a sort of lake, with a dam.
Now I made a dam, and imported it as a .3ds object. The problem is the control over shape of the water rectangle in Lumion. It can not take any irregular shape form, just rectangle. Therefor I can not make an appropriate form for my lake. What should I do?

Thank you for the replies.

Make your water surface somewhere else and use the water material.

Make your water surface somewhere else and use the water material.
or model the terrain in another program and import it.  Then use the water below the surface of the imported terrain.

Thank you for the reply, both of you.

Billet323, I did not quite understand you.
Can you be more precise?

you can model the water in 3ds max or which 3d software you desire and add the water material to it in Lumion.

I still do not understand that "use the water below the surface of the imported terrain" part. Below the imported terrain?

The surface of the water, that I will create in 3ds max or some other program, needs to be thicker, a tens and tens of meters? Or just in a shape of a simple slab, a 20 centimeters for example?

It just needs to be a 2D plane following the contours of the lakeside.

Simply model the water surface in your modelling application (and do not add as a water plane in Lumion) and import it with your dam. There is a water material you can paint it with. It gives even better colour control than the Lumion water plane.
