Hello,

Is it possible to import a design (dwg) or even a handsketch into Lumion of a master planned subdivison for reference as I develop the model in Lumion????

I see all of these great projects through lumion but have not found any covereage on importing your own designs and how to develop it from there.

I am not sure how to accomplish this. Please help! Thanks.

Lumion is not a modelling tool, it's focus is on the visualization step only.

You do your modelling in your DCC or CAD tool, apply materials and finalise as needed, then for the visualization import and do the stuff Lumion is good at to generate stills and animation.  If you have updates to the model in your DCC/CAD you then re-export and import re-laod in Lumion to update.

Thanks for the reply.

So how are people creating these realistic layouts with detail like locations of roads and specific site elemts that I see? I would assume a 2d base would be imported and you then model up from that?

I guess I find it hard to use if there are no specifics to follow. I mean I could randomply make up a scene in this program but without schematics its a bit confusing.

Any further help is appreciated.
