after working with lumion for 4 days, some important suggestions came to my mind...:
(sorry for my unperfect english)
-function: save colour-set of a model (absolutely necessary)
-function: load saved colour-set to another model / colours, witch fit, are defined, other ignored
result: splitting a big model in sketchup into parts, loading as models, in every particular model then the same LUMION COLOUR / MATERIAL for the imported colour. saves much time
-function plus: all this per copy & paste (select model / copy colours(/materials // select another / paste)
"PAUSE"-function for a video-rendering. you could render a part / PAUSE (close and shut down the pc) and start on the "STOP" - position later and finish the video. would be great for longer moovies.
3. render from / to time-stamp
please inklude locators start / stop, so that one could render only a part of a longer video-compilation (one set in each video / one set in the "entire video"
result: smaller files from one video file , where the surroundings (clouds, sun etc) are globaly calculated. by this you can compile the part-videos in a video-postproduction much better
4. just for safety:
you can stop rendering by pressing "ESC" at the moment. please implement a confirmation-dialog, it's safer against books and other things, which like to fall on the keyboard....
5. mirror-function on the ocean surface:
i don't know, if this is a bug or my pc is wrong ( hitec-pc, saphire 3gb ram graphics) , but i have mirrorded houses etc. on the horizon, far away from the model (see>> picture)
6. moving horizontal / vertical : a bug?
when i adjust the hight of for ex. stones and the move them again in x/y , the hight adjustmen gets lost.....
and: please implement shift + left mouse for much quicker movement in the vertical (z) direction in editing position
can it be, that the ocean behaves different at the lumion-element-surfaces then on imported skp-surfaces?
8.designing a video:
plaese insert a button, which copies all settings (sun, water, clouds etc) from the actual editor-window to the first video frame. by that you could start the video at the position and whith the feeling, which inspires at the moment.
and vice-versa: when i am in a video and see a mistake, i would like to stop the video-performance and say: "go to editor at exactly this perspective / view). this would save MUCH TIME
and : the inspiration in the editor is saved over to a video at this very special moment.....
9. video-edit (record) :
please make the markers "movable", separately for each effect. i know, while moving, we'd have to decide , which effect should be moved. but this could be solved by a small checklist on each marker, where you can deside: move / copy / nothing per effect.
when for example placing birds , it would be useful to fix the x/y-axis (by pressing ALT or something) to be able then to controll the hight only (whith shift !!!!, see before)
the same for imported models...
a z-offset for an element would be usefull, so you could controll the placement in slopes much better
idea: automatic rotation of trees / stones etc (like colours on cars) and a random factor for the "strech"-function.
by that trees would be rotated and smaller / bigger (just a bit) automatically.
for trees also a random angle in both directions...
when moving object, a small POINT appears at one edge of the object , where you select the function.
i insert big part of cities like one object and sometimes the controll-point is not visible or hard to find , where i have to edit.
so: please insert these controll-points on every corner and surface of the "virtual cubus" ore make it "moveable" by pressing a key (means: appearing step by step on every corner, until it's near to the visible part (visible on screen)
could you implement a rectangle and free form (polygon) for terraforming , too???
result: placing objects / drawing a line around them in free shape, terraform up and down...
and there is a hole in the ground or a form on it (slope adjustable 0- 90°)
this would make the connection between terrain and models much easier
importing for ex. a long row of trees , created in sketchup
new function in limion : replace all objects "x" by object "y", again with randomized angle and other parameters, adjustable
16. . position lock
should not fix the object for advanced animation, only in the editor
17. peridiocal movement - "controller-point"
could you implement a "controll-point" , which can move within adjustable borders (+/- x // +/- y // +/- z) with a definable period ot time periodically?
result: connection such a point to a boat with +/- 30 cm at x and z would let it move on the waves . inserting a second point with y-movement makes the movemt 3d...
that's it for now.
please tell me, if such ideas are interesting for you at all, if so, i'll keep on writing them down, otherwise.....
