There's some information in the new Lumion 2: Tips, Tricks and Shortcuts thread.

Search for Reflection Control:

And is it possible to adjust the settings of the reflection sphere? The reflections don´t seem to be right, they are displayed too big (see attached files).

And is it possible to adjust the settings of the reflection sphere?

If you want the reflected balustrades to be smaller on the rendering above, you should move the Reflection control object further away from them (if possible).

Here are some other options:

1) Blur the reflections by decreasing the Glossiness slider or the glass material ... and/or
2) Move the Reflection control object high above your scene, so that the building won't be reflected in the glass material ... or
3) Animate the Reflection control object on a per-clip basis

Thanks for your answer, Morten.

I still tryed the option to move the sphere as far as possible, it became a little better but still too big, because the court is too small.

Also i tryed before moving the reflection-sphere high above (your solution 2), but it looked unnatural.

Solution 3) wouldn´t bring a better result, because the court is too small to move the sphere far enough and high above it looks, as said before, unnatural.

So i will try to blur the reflection (your solution 1).

If the model wasn´t so high-polygonal, i would try to double it and increase the size of the duplicate to place and animate the reflection-sphere there.

Is it planned to give us the option to change the settings of the sphere in future-versions? And is this possible at all?

Regards,
Frank

Hi Frank, I can imagine that it's tricky to get the reflections to look right in that particular scene, given the limitations that the single 360 degree reflection texture in Lumion impose (discussed in countless other threads).

Is it planned to give us the option to change the settings of the sphere in future-versions? And is this possible at all?

If you have any new requests/suggestions/questions about whether it would possible to implement setting X, please post them in the Wish list section, so that they're read by the right people.

Thank you, i will post it in the wish-list.
And try a little around in the scene.  ::)
Fortunately the deadline is two years away, and who knows what the future will bring. 8)

I really hope that we'll have planar reflections in Lumion 2 years from now :)
