No not possible, you can use the invisible material, but then you probably hide the complete surface

i used to render with arltantis studio  ... but never use to render movie ( i want to be still alive at the end of the render :P )
thanks to ilwedritsche who make me think of it, there 2 or 3 things very useful in artlantis.

- You can re affect texture with 6 modes:
     +by triangle
     +by plane
     +by parallel plane
     +by texture
     +by object.
     +magic wand

- For all texture you can with a slide smooth texture. This allow you to smooth everything tube with facet, terrain, railing etc... it's a good thing because the model doesn't need to be too heavy....

cheers

Sorry for my bad explanation... a drawing will be better, here two pictures.... The first is render normally, in the second before the render i use the slider i was talking about (for each texture you can choose the amount of "smooth") ....
You'll see the limit of this effect on the different object but for mesh terrain it is working good....

Ah ok. I suggested a feature like this before in another topic. It's quite easy for us to recalculate normals based on a smoothing angle. Initially we thought to include a feature like that but it never made it. Maybe later...
