Hi!
Im new around and this is my first post , so hello everyone!
I'm an archicad user (professionally) and currently using artlantis for my rendering needs. As i am more and more into rendering works, and less into large building projects (economic reasons) i started looking for a program that gives more feedback to users and bumped into Lumion. As i read through the forum i see there is no direct support for Archicad right now and i would like to ask you if there are plans for making a convert plugin, or maybe some other manner of import/export with archicad. Another thing i'd like to know is if you plan on making a timelimited-full option demo, a sort of trial/edu version ? The current demo is very limited, and doesnt give the right picture of the program, though it shows that theres a lot of potential. What im trying to say is that i would be afraid to buy the program just basing on how the current demo looks. I would really like to have a legal chance of exploring its full potential without having to buy it in blindpick ;).
Cheers to all,
Tomek

Hi Tomek, good point about the demo version. One of the other guys should comment on this, as well as on the prospect of a time-limited trial of a more full-featured version.

Regarding ArchiCAD support, all I can reveal at this stage is that the ability to import from various types of CAD software is indeed on the To Do list.

I am just afraid that using another program for exporting from archicad will require some knowledge in that program, and doing some mid-processing to get the file ready to use in lumion. Its especially problematic when you are in the process of making something, and do a lot of changes to the file as you go. its kind of annoying in artlantis, and this is a direct convert, i cant imagine how annoying it would be with another program in the middle...
thanks all for the replies ,im really impressed how this forum lives ;)

Of course Unmade you are right, i'am agree with you... but yesterday i try to import .3ds directly and it work fine maybe it would be a good idea to test (@lumion team : did you change something in the 3ds file support in the SP2 ?!)
I also use artlantis for a while ... for exterior render i will never go back to it.... Lumion Powaaa  })
