And here I was planning to purchase a 'normal' GTX580 over this very weekend. Phew Laugh

It would be a great kit for Vray Rt and , wouldn't it? because it has 3gb ddr, alternative solution to those highly priced quadro fx series cards, but shame i don't have 3 video card slots for this monster.

Cubix was once recommened expand external render hub for Octane render. But now something behind made them separate. Fault rates or something.

Some other things should consider are gtx480 is too hot, too lould and nvidia cuda 3.0 compatibility.

Hope gtx580 3GB will ease the pain

I got the GTX580 Phantom 3GB price: 680-720€ + taxes...(!)

Thats dissapointing. I would have hoped they'd not take full advantage of the hype this thing is creating. Obviously they reckoned 'why the hell not'.

i prefer to use 2*SLI and 3-way-SLI graphic cards mode.

+ low cost,

+ more powerfull,

- but more energy needed.

I will waint for Asus and a 3GB card. But 3GB is really nice for CG.
