Hi All

I have 4 question from lumion

1-Why do not parallel the view in lumion?I need it to  top view and side view when this option added in the future to lumion

2-Why shadow is not soft in lumion?

3-why lumion is not Entering a numeric value for sun position example 10 o'clock- or fog or clouds or  materials  or ... and with mouse drag It handles and it is not Accurate.

4-Why lumion do not  Array command does not in redial array or Direct route.

thanks.

Hi rezaiyan, the developers are keenly aware of the fact that it isn't possible to create proper axonometric views + elevations and cross sections in Lumion.

Ferry actually carried out tests in April but was discouraged by the initial results.

Anything that relies on "projection" will not function correctly if you try to use an orthogonal camera, so the shadows and the ocean were no longer visible. There were other problems too, for example fog not working anymore, but I don't remember all of the details.

2-Why shadow is not soft in lumion?
Shadows on rendered images and in videos should be soft if you rendered them in 3 star quality. Shadows in Build mode and in movie previews have often got jagged edges, and this is a limitation of the way shadows are implemented in Lumion, i.e. 3 shadow map textures with different resolutions that are placed like this:
http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/windows/desktop/ee416307%28v=vs.85%29.aspx

You can make the jagged edges less pronounced by choosing 4 star quality in Build mode (press F4) and by lowering the Shadowmap Range slider in the Weather section.

3-why lumion is not Entering a numeric value for sun position example 10 o'clock- or fog or clouds or  materials  or ... and with mouse drag It handles and it is not Accurate.
For some reason, not that many customers have requested this function in Lumion, so the developers have chosen to give this a lower priority. In a poll that Remko carried out, only 1 out of 109 votes was for "Automatic sun position based on time of day", i.e. sun location based on longitude/latitude and time of day:

4-Why lumion do not  Array command does not in redial array or Direct route.
There is a linear array command in Lumion but no circular one:

(CTRL) + "Space" command: The selected objects will be placed in a straight line as defined by the objects that are furthest away from each other. (CTRL)-select objects -> Context menu -> Click on the selection icon of one of the selected objects -> Transformation -> Space)

Dear Morten

Thanks for reply

i am very problems with axonometric views  in lumion and this is made from my project by  revit with a site plan and elevations with a not good landscape  in revit for me because trees and sky and very Lumion facility is not in revit .i export project to lumion only for 3d views but axonometric made in revit Without a good landscape  .

For array Command in lumion : when i am click in space but not array in object ? but i think this is align objects in a  straight line? i need when  click an object  example tree, it is copy a  straight line example 20 or 30 trees or cars in a redial or straight line (It's called my opinion Array) but in revit its easy Such as image.

other Request :Is it possible IN LUMION ? outdors lighting in day is off and in night automatic is on And give light Like Twinmotion software ?

AND  It is possible to smooth path animation in lumion example rotate car in a smoot path

thanks.

As I said above, Ferry (the main developer of Lumion) could not get axonometric views to work properly in Lumion. The only workaround is to move the camera far away and set the Focal Length to a large value.

We haven't got Revit-style circular/linear Array commands in Lumion but thanks for your request. The only way to achieve a linear array in Lumion is to add your trees to the scene manually, then place 2 of the trees at both ends of the 'line', select all of the trees and press CTRL while you execute the Space command.

It is possible with some manual work, but it's not very easy, so I interpret this as a request to make it easier :)

In 2.5, I should also mention that there are some problems with the Advanced Animation effect.

KNOWN ISSUES: Advanced Animation effect
The Advanced Animation effect only uses curves when an animated model has 4 or more keyframes.

If there are fewer than 4 keyframes, the animation curve is not smooth, and walking characters for example, will appear to change orientation by 180 degrees for 1 frame just before reaching each keyframe.

The reason for this is that a different algorithm is used when there are fewer than 4 keyframes.

Some users have also reported unexpected behaviour when animating models, for example disappearing 3D people or certain models that can't seem to be animated.

Hi Morten, we also have identified these issues in advanced animation.
You know when you are going to solve the problems identified in the advanced animation?
We use a lot of this tool in our commercial animations, so we are very interested in a quick solution, if that's possible.

a greeting, Severino

Hi Severino, unfortunately I don't know when a fix will be available - Ferry is not in the office at the moment.

Thank you for your response.

I hope these issues will be resolved.

Especially: outdoors lighting automatic lighting at night. And animation.

So is the workaround until fixes/improvements are made, to always ensure at least 4 keyframes are made in the animation such as moving to interim positions that would normally be part of the curve?

Other suggestions/workarounds?

That will depend on whether Ferry can find a solution to the problems.
