Is there no way to manipulate a 2d export just like in an animation?  This should be the same for both?

If you go to Movie mode, apply the effects and go to Photo mode you get the effects in the photos.

So its possible to do some scene effects on a 2D image?  Im not sure I follow how to do this?

Cool I didn't know about that. :)

Maybe a effects button to the effect tools would be nice. Something like a "link". So I don't have to go to movie mode before. Shouldn't be that hard to put in. *maybe for the wishlist* ;)

Go to the Movie section and use the Help function - it's the blue question mark button in the lower right corner of the screen.

It tells you that you need to click on the Star button at the top of the screen if you want to add effects. Once you've added some, you can simply switch to the Photo section (The Camera button in the lower right corner) if you want to render an image with those effects.
