Uhh, I can move and lock topics? I think this isn't supposed to be. I couldn't resist to test it out. Sorry for inconveniences.

Back to topic: I think this is an awesome contest with lots of participating people and exposure to Lumion and the winners.

I'd guess that as it does not say 'limited to..', that anyone can submit any number of entries, as also they allow use of post video editing tools it seems they want a very flexible open competition, the final video result is the key.  However, best we get official word from Act3D.

I think it would be good for the competion to also request winners (but still optional), and anyone else that wishes to, to submit a 'how we did it' so that the whole usage of Lumion is extended further to the community's knowledgebase.

the competition is a very good idea !

but i think the possibilty to use postproduction is not.

if it should be a real competition everybody should have the same chance of winning using the same tools ( lumion ).

allowing post-production offers some users better chanches than others. ( we are used to do post-roduction, so it doesnt hinder us.)

seems to me the results should look even more impressive than lumion on its own, otherwise i cant explain this choice ...

just my two cents...

It's perhaps a bit unfair to a certain extend yet it's more or less the same as 2 people using Lumion where one has a uber-rig and the other a relatively simple entry-lvl laptop. Goes without saying the one with the uber-rig can squeeze quit a bit more juice out of Lumion then the other. Think the PP flag is mostly intended to allow competitors free roam where the core should ofc remain with the focus on Lumion, IE no After-Effects showcase by itself.
Should be quite interesting to see how this all works out  :)

I think using 3rd party software is a realistic usage scenario so that's why it should be allowed.

It is always talent that wins so extra tools help but I don't think they are the biggest factor for a good movie.

You are allowed to participate with as many people (a team) or movies as you want.

Also in the current version you need to use another tool for sound. So if we allow sound for this version this is our only option.

You can indeed make a movie with a team and win with a team.

Its just that says "Available from the 28th of July" and its 10 in the morning here, I don't know if the version is the updated one :)
By the way the file is 253MB

We're adding some demo scenes to the demo version now and it will be available for download in the next 6 hours or so.

We found a last minute low level bug which causes some drawing errors so probably release will be postponed to tomorrow. It causes the sky cube map to draw incorrectly under certain conditions.
