Dear Lumion users,                                                                      28th of June, 2016

We are pleased to inform you that version 6.5.1 of Lumion, Lumion Pro and Lumion Viewer has been released. It's a free update for licensed version 6 users, and you do not need to upgrade your license if you already have a Lumion 6 license.

This version is a maintenance update and includes a number of error fixes, so we recommend that all Lumion 6 licensees install version 6.5.1. You do not need to uninstall older versions of Lumion prior to installing 6.5.1. However, if you have previously installed 6.5, then we do recommend uninstalling 6.5 prior to installing the new version 6.5.1.

We also recommend upgrading to Windows 10 before the free upgrade offer expires on 29 July 2016.

HOW TO RESOLVE CRASHES, ERRORS AND START-UP PROBLEMS IN LUMION 6.5.1
Lumion 6.5.1 and newer require that all Windows updates as well as the latest graphics card driver have been installed. Please click here and follow the instructions to ensure that your PC is ready for Lumion 6.5.1.

Best regards from all of us at Act-3D!

RELEASE NOTES
Please read the release notes in the post below to see what has changed.

DOWNLOADING LUMION 6.5.1
Licensed customers should now have received an email with download instructions (please check your Spam folder on your email account).

Please note that the email was sent to the email address that was used when Lumion 6 was purchased, so if you work for a large organisation you may have to ask the person who bought Lumion to forward the email to you.

If you haven't received the email, please forward your Lumion 6 license number and purchase receipt to [email protected], so they can send you another email.

DOWNLOADING LUMION VIEWER 6.5.1
Lumion Viewer 6.5.1 is available via the download link in the emails that have been sent to all Lumion Pro 6 licensees.

HOW TO MIGRATE TO 6.5.1 FROM EARLIER VERSIONS
Please note that Lumion 6.5 and newer work from a new \Lumion 6.5 folder in Documents. You will need to copy the Scenes and Library folders from Documents\Lumion 6 to Documents\Lumion 6.5 to be able to load your scenes and models in version 6.5. This was done in order to ensure that you still have a back-up of your Lumion 6.3 scenes and imported models in case you experience serious problems in 6.5.

To keep your Favourites from the Imported Model Library and Lumion Library, copy the file "settings45.ini" from Documents\Lumion 6 or Documents\Lumion 5, to Documents\Lumion 6.5
IMPORTANT: Please do not send private messages and emails to members of staff - unless we specifically ask you to send us sensitive information, for example License Keys.

LUMION 6.5.1: RELEASE NOTES

COMPATIBILITY
  • Please note that scenes and models saved in 6.5 and newer are not backwards compatible with earlier versions.
  • Scenes and imported models in 6.5 and newer are saved in My Documents/Lumion 6.5/Scenes & Library folders to avoid mixing them up with scenes and models saved in older versions. You will need to copy your Lumion 6 folders (Scenes, Library and Miscellaneous folders) to the Lumion 6.5 folder if you want to load those scenes and models in version 6.5.1. Make sure to restart Lumion 6.5.1 after doing this.

  • Lumion 6.5 and newer require that you install the new DWG to Lumion Bridge 2017 plug-in before importing DWG files. Please visit this page to download and install it. You do not need to uninstall the previous installation of the DWG to Lumion Bridge plug-in as it is still required for older versions of Lumion.

LUMION 6.5.1: HOTFIX FOR SAVING MP4 FILES

Hello everyone,

Here's a hotfix for Lumion 6.5.1 and Lumion Pro 6.5.1 only.

The hotfix ensures that an MP4 file is saved correctly when using certain non-Latin characters in the file name.

Lumion and Lumion Pro 6.5 users should preferably install the newer version 6.5.1 first, then follow these steps. If you are unable to do so, then this hotfix can be used for version 6.5.
___________________________________________________________________________

HOW TO INSTALL IT

1) Make sure Lumion is closed.

2) In the Lumion 6.5.1 installation folder. ("C:\Program Files\Lumion 6.5.1\Channels"), rename each of these three files:
  • MediaCommand.dll to MediaCommand.dll.BAK
  • MediaTexture2.dll to MediaTexture2.dll.BAK
  • MediaUnique.dll to MediaUnique.dll.BAK
3) Unzip the attached file ("Hotfix_6.5.1_Unicode_MP4FileSave.zip") to the Lumion 6.5.1 installation folder ("C:\Program Files\Lumion 6.5.1\Channels"). You may need Administrative Privileges.  Please check that the files are now listed in Windows Explorer file list and that they are dated 25/08/2016.:
  • MediaCommand.dll
  • MediaTexture2.dll
  • MediaUnique.dll
4) Start Lumion again.
