I had same problem yesterday from Revit using Bridge 0.9.4. The exported .dae was from a Revit model that had been recovered & I thought they may have been a problem, so I saved the "recovery" Revit file over the original then exported the .dae again. I still had error in Lumion when trying to update the model. Then I saved the scene in Lumion. Started a new scene, imported the updated .dae as a new name and it imported fine. Then I loaded the previous scene w/o saving the new one and reloaded the model that was erroring and it updated just fine. ???

TJS:

Many thanks for steps and great work in finding a solution.  :)

Was the Imported model in Lumion from the same exporter version or an earlier one?

JoGin:

If you have not yet followed the TJS steps, can you please send us the files for testing, if possible.  Pease wetransfer.com -> peterm [at] act-3d.com and wetransfer.com -> artur [at] act-3d.com.

As you have Lumion (standard) you would need to copy and zip the files from the \my documents\Lumion 3 folders for Scene and for Library, refer further: LUMION 3: Tips, Tricks and Shortcuts in FAQ topics near bottom of page.

We would just need the scene files in \Scene subfolder *.spr, *.sva, and only the model that is not updating from Library subfolder *.lib, *.mtt, *.inn, *.txx.

Plus the Revit SkUp file.

Thanks in advance.

What Revit exporter version were you using?

The most current (0.9.4) exporter was used for the original & the updated model, but there was a Revit crash and a recovered version of the file between the two exports, but loading the .dae in a New scene and then going back to the original Lumion scene to reload the model seemed to fix the import problem, so I don't think it was an export problem. It seemed to be a Lumion side import problem and having to clear out memory/cache by closing the project then reopening it to reload the model.

But, I don't have/use Sketchup, so JoGin's problem may be on the export side of things if doing the New scene then reload doesn't work.

Hi JoGin

Can I just check that the updated export from SkUp overwrote the previous exported version so you used the Reload and Reapply step, or you exported to a new DAE file?

Also that you have checked for non-ASCII, foreign language characters in both folders and file names.  Perhaps there is a particular texture that has invalid characters in the file name?

See also my reply to your PM.

Hi JoGin

Have received files and tested.  Your dae file imported here OK (that was to a Reload Model... as dont have same paths as you), some materials changed but otherwise no import error message.

Your file name and path seems OK.

Was O:\ drive accessible?

Did you open the scene originally from an Import LS3 Scene file?

Can you please try again, probably have by now, is it working?

Good morning,

I am having the same problem here. I am open an import LS3 scene file and get the same error. I do not have the original file only the LS3 file. what can I do to solve the problem. The DAE file is in the same location, but can not reload the model. I am using revit bridge too. Thanks in advanced for your help.

Hi kza

Have you tried using the Reload as New Model (press Ctrl) which will open the Windows File Open dialogue?  In this way you just select the DAE file.  Does this option to load also create the error?

If you look at the path of the file with mouse-over the Reload button is it the same as the DAE file path you mention?
