How to import from Rhino?

Hi everyone,
I've been trying to import a file from Rhino but cant get it to work.
I've tried different extensions, .3ds, .obj, .fbx, but all have the same issue.
The object loads into the menu, but when you place it into the scene nothing happens. Just a gray dot that when selected turns green.
So it seems like the object is in the scene but it's not visible.
If anyone has any solution to this issue, it would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Odin, Lumion does not officially support Rhino, but one of our customers (CRhoades) regularly imports models from Rhino via .3ds format:

In your case, it sounds like the scale is wrong - the dot is probably a very small instance of your model.

If you turn on the 'i' button in the Settings menu, it will display the vertex count of the models that are visible (the number is displayed in the top right corner), so make a note of the vertex number before and after you add your model to the scene. If the number increases by however many vertices your model consists of, the model is there, and it's 'just' a question of getting the scale right.

I've tried scaling it both larger and smaller, but still not having any luck with it. It shows up on the object menu - change object icon, but when I place it... poof, nothing is there. Only the gray object dot.

Please forward the Rhino file and the exported model file(s) to our import/export guru, Artur (artur [at] act-3d.com).

Maybe the model is too large to export in 1 piece.
