Placing of Street into the terrain

Hi,

I'm new to Lumion and I have a problem with the placing of objects.
I have placed my building on the flat terrain and would now like to place a road (which I created in AutoCAD) into the terrain. For this purpose the sidewalk should have the level of the foundation of the building (heightlevel 0) and the road should lay below the level 0 (embedded into the flat terrain). At the moment the terrain overlays my streetlevel. is there a way to place the street properly apart from using the terrain editor to lower the terrain level around the street. Please see also my attached screeshots.

Cheers,

Spezialfrosch

Hi Spezialfrosch

.. is there a way to place the street properly apart from using the terrain editor to lower the terrain level around the street.

No.  That's the way to do it when bringing together the imported models to your terrain.  Ensure you lock the objects position before altering the terrain.

Another option is for the terrain to be made in your modelling application and imported as part of the rest (as one object or more) of your infrastructure elements.  Some users will model large terrain areas, and some it's suitable to just model local sections of terrain.  When you do that, it's imported as a mesh, and is not part of Lumion Terrain so you can't paint and adjust except for position.  The land surface can be assigned a Landscape Material so it looks the same as the main Lumion Terrain.

Which version of Lumion are you using for this?

Hi Peter,
thanks for the quick reply.
I will try out your hint with the mesh. Sounds exactly what i was looking for. I didn´t know that you can assign the mesh to look like landscape.
I use the Education version of Lumion 5, which I received by my university.

Thanks,
