Title: My humble wishlist
Post by: Member35962 on April 08, 2012, 11:01:53 am
First off I salute the dev team for the great work you guys make. Your baby has a great potential!
What I'd love to see is more conventional UI. I mean could it look like 'normal'  :-D 3D editor?
For example:
1. Orbit mode (similar to the Sketchup \Max etc.)
2. user defined Shortcuts for ALL operations (it's the fastest way to work with PC)
3. SU\ACAD components\blocks support, with ability to select all the instances and replace 'em
with lumion stuff.
4. Eyedropper to take material from one object and assign to another.
5. 'Save' command?
6. 'Undo' for the the multiple operations
7. Drag'n'drop materials\library entities  from the modeless windows.

--- To be continued

Been playing around with the demo version of Lumion and just wanted to see if #3 on RJD's list is an option now. Very interested in the program by the way!

Hi sverlander

Thanks for your interest in Lumion.

#3 is not a feature of the current Lumion version.

There is however, a feature referred to as Nodes, where components/objects in SketchUp and other modelling applications can be used as a sort of placeholder to position one or more objects in Lumion.  The elements of the Node object simply gets replaced by lights or trees, and those can also be replaced using the Library Replacement feature.  For further details see: Lumion 5.0 released (https://forum.lumion3d.com/announcements/lumion-5-0-released/).

If you are using the Demo (which is v5.3) then that feature is available to you.

Note that the Demo at v5.3 is now getting a little old.  You can also request a 7 day Trial of version 6 via your local reseller (http://lumion3d.com/resellers). The trial version is for the purposes of evaluation for those considering purchasing Lumion.
