How is this done?

BTW Does anyone know if its possible to change the color of the default 2d silluets in lumion? Black can sometimes be a bit 'bleak' :-)

How is this done? Same that Decals

Hej Jørgensen, the user interface looks slightly different in Lumion 1 Free, but it's still possible to change the colour of the silhouettes:

Context Menu -> Click on the circular object icon of the silhouette -> Options

WOW  THIS IS AMAZING  ..... BUT ....  THIS IMAGES ALWAYS  FACE THE CAMERA .... HOW COULD BE THIS POSSIBLE ....  IT´S  JUST GREAT MY FRIEND =D

Hi Abnerjair, you need to create a plane in your 3D modelling application, and assign a texture of a person to the plane. The texture requires a black and white alpha channel which works as a mask. Lumion only uses 1-bit alpha, so in this example, the alpha channel needs to be a white silhouette of the person on a black background. Acceptable file formats for textures with alpha channels are TGA, BMP, TIF, PNG and DDS.

Then import the plane in Lumion, and assign a Billboard material to it, so that it always faces the camera:
Edit Materials -> Custom tab -> Billboard material

THANK´S A LOT MORTEN;  IS LIKE USE SKETCHUP JUJUJU .... GOOD WAY  TOO INCREASE THE 2D PEOPLE LIBRARY OR MAKE A 2D LIBRARY OF ANY THING AS CARS, TREES ETC THE QUALITY IS NOT THE SAME BUT COULD BE INTERESTING ..... YOU ARE A MASTER .... =D

1: You have to make a PNG image like this one I upload with PS.
2: Make a rectangular surface in any 3d modelling software of around 1.7 mts height and applied the PNG texture with 0,0,0 in the midle inferior.
3: Export the surface like Collada.
4: Import inside Lumion and applied Billboard inside Properties.

1. Better in Sketchup ;)
2. In Photoshop. You need the alpha to remove all the black around the person and leave transparent.
